Our history
Groeneveld
1887The origins of Getronics date back to 1887 with the incorporation of Groeneveld, Van der Pol & Co's Elektrotechnische Fabriek N.V. ("Groeneveld"), an installer of control and technical equipment for the utilities construction and ship-building industries.
Groenpol NV
1950Groeneveld formed Technisch Verkoop Kantoor Groenpol ("Groenpol"), a separate sales division that distributed technical equipment ranging from micro switches to steam turbines.
Geveke & Groenpol
1968Groenpol NV, which by then had a listing on the Amsterdam Exchanges, merged with Geveke NV to form Geveke & Groenpol N.V. The operating business units of each company continued to operate separately.
Steenkolen Handelsvereniging NV

SHV divided Geveke & Groenpol NV's operations into a sales division ("Groenpol Industrial Sales") and an installation division. The distribution activities continued to operate under the internal name of Groep Technische Handel, of which Groenpol Industrial Sales became a part.
Geveke Electronics
